Mario R. Schwarzenberg, 57, of Charlton, passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2010 in his home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer. Mario is survived by his wife of thirty years, Patricia (Costa) Schwarzenberg, his children, Christopher and Jennifer Schwarzenberg both of Charlton; his only grandson Adam Schwarzenberg; two nephews and a great niece and nephew. A brother, Hans Schwarzenberg predeceased him. Born on November 17, 1952, Mario was the son of Adam A. & Anneleise (Laubenstein) Schwarzenberg. He was a graduate of St. Mary's Central Catholic High School, Quinsigamond Community College and Assumption College where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Management graduating with honors. After serving his nation proudly in the Air National Guard, he worked for Reed Rico Rolled Thread Co. for over twenty seven years. He recently worked as an agent for Unum Insurance Company up until his illness. Mario was a member of St. Mary's Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church and the American Legion Post. He also enjoyed being a Boy Scout Leader for Charlton Troop 165. The funeral for Mario will be held Saturday, May 29th, from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, with a service at 9:30 a.m. in St. Mary's Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church, 535 Salisbury Street, with a burial following in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Friday, May 28th from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a Trisagion service at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial contributions be sent to American Cancer Society P.O.
