Frederick P. Remillard, 86, of Worcester, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, May 11, 2010 in his home surrounded by his devoted family. His wife of sixty years, Norena (Latuga) Remillard, passed away March 28, 2008. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and LeeAnn Remillard of Worcester; four daughters, Linda Daly of Worcester, Kathleen Remillard of Worcester, Sharon Barnes and her husband Paul of North Brookfield and Norena Senior of Worcester; a brother, Francis Remillard of Worcester; a sister Florence Gray of Worcester; seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his two brothers, Robert and Thomas Remillard; a sister, Ellen Thibeault and two sons-in-law, John Daly and Robert Senior. Fred was born in Worcester on October 13, 1923, son of Joseph & Mary (Doherty) Remillard. He has lived in Worcester all his life. Mr. Remillard attended and graduated from the New England School of Accounting were he received his certification in Accounting. He served his nation proudly in the United States Navy, during World War II and Korean War. Mr. Remillard worked as the custodian for Westborough High School for over thirty-five years, before he retired. He was a man of Christian Faith, belonging to Immaculate Conception Church. He was an avid New England Sports Fan. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a loving father, brother, grandfather and uncle who will be missed by all. Frederick's family wishes to thank the VNA Hospice and Dr. Roland Dorris for the wonderful care that was given to Fred and his family. Fred's funeral will be held Saturday, May 15th from MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester with a Mass at 10:30 am in Immaculate Conception Church, 353 Grove Street, Worcester. His interment will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours Friday evening from 5-8 pm in the funeral home.
