Joseph H. (Hervey) Brazeau, 88 of Worcester was surrounded by his family when he was called home to heaven on his birthday, May 11, 2010. He was born in Vaudreuil-Dorion, Quebec, Canada, the son of George M and Rose M. (Bedard) Brazeau. Mr. Brazeau attended Assumption Prep and Graduated from North High School. He was a World War II Navy Veteran and served three and a half years as a Radioman aboard the U.S.S. Wyoming. He was employed by General Motors Corp. in Framingham and Linde Air Products of Worcester. He retired from the U. S. Postal Service as an inside clerk in 1985. Mr. Brazeau was also an insurance agent with The Artisans Insurance Co. for many years. Mr. Brazeau was a lifetime member of St. Joseph's Church and was active in the Saving of St Joseph's Church in the early 1990's. He had participated in a Catholic Cursillo weekend, something he was very proud of. He was a member of St. Joseph's Men's Club, The National Association of Letter Carriers, a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, Adelphi Council and a member of the Worcester Harmony Club. He was a member of the men's golf league at Heritage Country Club; also a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion. He enjoyed working in his garage, where he would fix and repair just about anything. He loved helping his children and grandchildren and they were the pride and joy of his life. His wife of 66 years Marie - Rose O. (Gemme ) Brazeau, entered her heavenly home on October 8, 2009. He is survived by his children, Robert O and his wife Mary of Douglas, William G and his wife June of Rutland, Marie- Rose M. Pellegrino and her husband David of Sutton, and his Daughter-in-law Joan M. Brazeau of Sutton. His grandchildren, Michael and Matthew Brazeau, Christine McGovern, Michelle and Pamela Brazeau and Renée and Marie-Rose Pellegrino. 4 great- grandchildren Kayla and Cole McGovern, Lillian and Meghan Brazeau. He is also survived by a brother George Brazeau of Spencer , two sister-in-laws Gertrude Morin of Shrewsbury and Margaret Gemme of Estero, Florida and several nieces and nephews who were very good to him and who were very important to him. He was predeceased by his son, Hervey G. Brazeau in 1978 at the age 32. Joseph's funeral will be held Saturday May 15, from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00AM in Holy Family / St. Joseph Church 35 Hamilton St. Calling hours in the funeral home are from 4-8PM on Friday.
