Santa Ciccarelli

Santa A. (Cariglia) Ciccarelli, 83, of Shrewsbury formerly of Worcester died peacefully at home Sunday May 9, 2010 after a long illness surrounded by her loving family. Her husband Armando Ciccarelli died in 1994. Santa was the most beloved sister to Atty. Joseph Cariglia of Shrewsbury, Peter Cariglia of Worcester, and Nancy Spagnuolo and her husband Robert of Putnam Connecticut. She was a loving aunt to her nieces and nephews also a great nephew, cousins, and extended family. She was predeceased by a brother Frank Cariglia. Santa was born in Worcester daughter of the late Frank and Ortenzia (Padavano) Cariglia and lived in Worcester most of her life before moving to Shrewsbury several years ago. She worked as a stitcher for various companies in Worcester. Santa was a life member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann Church and was a devout catholic. "Sannie" was most unselfish and her greatest joy was spent in devotion to her family and all who knew her. She will be terribly missed by her family and friends,. Santa's funeral will be held Thursday from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 AM in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann Church 24 Mulberry St. Calling hours in the funeral home will be from 5-8PM on Wednesday. Interment will be in St. Johns Cemetery.
