June C. (Tagman) Oliver, 75, of Worcester, passed away in her home on Friday, May 7, 2010, with family at her side. Her loving husband of fifty-three years, Gerald T. Oliver, passed away in August 2008. June is survived by her loving children, Stephen M. Oliver of Worcester, Edward G. Oliver and his wife Claudia of Rindge, NH, Jane Oliver P.F.M of Worcester and Susan Hikel and her husband Stephen Thibodeau of Bastrop, TX; a sister, Sharon Gouin of Worcester; eight grandchildren, James Oliver, Lily, Jonathan, Michael, Priya, Andrew, Christopher and Amy Hikel; three great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Born in Worcester, daughter of Francis and Flora (Chilberto) Tagman, she graduated from Saint Stephen's High School, and has lived here all her life. She worked for twenty years as a sales lady for Filenes Department Store in Worcester. She later worked as a cashier for Big D Supermarkets and their successor Price Chopper. She was a member of Saint Stephen Church. Her greatest joys were the times she would spend with her loving family during the holidays and on summer vacation at Hampton Beach. She enjoyed visits at the lake, cooking, baking and reading. June's family would like to thank UMass-Memorial Hospice, especially Suzanne and Jan, for all the loving and compassionate care shared with June and the Oliver family. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, May 11, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 12 at 10:30 a.m. in Saint Stephen Church, 357 Grafton Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
