John M. Buffone, 42, of Grafton dedicated husband, father, son and brother, passed away Monday, May 3rd 2010 with his family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer. John was born February 2nd 1968, in Worcester. His father was the late Joseph Buffone. He graduated from Worcester Vocational Technical High School and has lived in Grafton more than 16 years. John is survived by his wife and partner of 19 years May 18th Nancy A. (McInerney) Buffone; his two adored children, Maxx T. and Grace H. Buffone both of Grafton; his mother, Sandra (Mercando) Buffone; a sister, Gina O'Mara and her husband Matt all of Worcester; his father in law Donald McInerney of Millbury; his three godchildren Zackery Pacheco, Emilee and Anna Gaimari; Many nieces, nephews, extended family and numerous friends, who loved him and will miss him dearly. His mother in law Dorothy McInerney passed away 25 hours after John, his maternal grandparents Frank and Ida Mercando and his paternal grandparents Frank and Louise Buffone also pre deceased him. John worked as a Union electrician for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union Local 96 at Coughlin Electric for the past 22 years. He was a member of St Mary's Church and the IBEW Local 96. His enjoyments were the Outdoors; fishing, hunting, boating, kayaking and camping. He was an avid sports enthusiast of all New England Sports, especially the Red Sox. But most of all he was a family man and great friend with an extraordinary sense of humor, and a great smile. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family, Thursday May 6th from 4 pm to 8 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. The funeral will be held Friday, May 7th from the funeral home with a Mass at 10:00 am, St. Mary's Church, 17 Waterville St. N. Grafton. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Buffone Children Educational Fund, care of the Grafton Suburban Credit Union, 86 Worcester Street, North Grafton Mass 01519.
