Gayle A. Green, 72, of Auburn, died peacefully with her family by her side on April 27, 2010 at Umass Memorial, University Campus, after battling a recent illness. Beloved grandmother to her only grandson John Edgar Landgren born May 14, 2009, she leaves a son and daughter-in-law, Scott W. Landgren and Karla H. Sangrey of Natick; a brother and sister-in-law, Richard E. Jones and Theresa of Barrington, RI; a brother Robert E. Jones of Paxton, a special niece Deborah Jones of E. Greenwich, RI, along with many nieces and nephews as well as many close friends. She is predeceased by her parents Gladys S. (Premo) Jones and Edgar B. Jones of Worcester, and two brothers, William E. Jones of Worcester and Rodney E. Jones of Fitchburg. She was a member of the First Congregational Church (FCC) of Shrewsbury where she was the church choir librarian for over 20 years, and a longtime former member of the Wesley United Methodist Church of Worcester. An avid choir singer and player of the piano, she was a current member of the Greater Auburn Community Chorus, current choir member of FCC of Shrewsbury and recent past member of the Assabet Valley Mastersingers (of Northborough). A graduate of Commerce High School of Worcester, she was a long time Avon representative for over 27 years. Ms Green worked at many Fallon Clinic locations over the years and worked for Dr. John Gould DMD of Worcester as a dental assistant for 10 years, and also at the Heald Machine Company in Worcester. An avid reader and lover of crossword puzzles, she especially loved her home and gardens, and received the greatest joy from hosting summer parties at her pool. She was an avid walker for many years, and loved to exercise regularly at Curves. Her caring and generosity will be missed by all those of who's lives she touched in so many different ways. Calling hours will be April 30th from 5:00 to 8:00 at the Mercadante Funeral Home, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, MA; funeral services will be on Saturday, May 1st, 10:30 AM at the First Congregational Church in Shrewsbury, MA, 19 Church Road, Shrewsbury, MA with burial to follow immediately after at the Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.
