Anthony J. "Bushet" Pezzella, 92, of Worcester formerly of Las Vegas died peacefully Sunday April 25, 2010 in the Autumn Village. Anthony is survived by a sister Anne M. Carroll of Worcester, and many nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces. He was predeceased by a sister Jennie Cicio, and three brothers; Patsy, Joseph, and Ralph Pezzella. Anthony was born in Worcester son of the late Arcangelo and Lucia (Ascione) Pezzella and was a graduate of Commerce High School. Anthony served in the United States Army. "Bushet" moved to Las Vegas at an early age and began his career as a Maitre D at the Dunes Hotel and Casino. He was the Head Maitre D' there for over 50 years before he retired. Upon retiring he moved to Florida for several years before returning to Worcester. He attended Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann Church, and was a member of the East Side Improvement Club. Anthony loved his job in Vegas and really enjoyed when his family and many friends came down to visit. He was an avid Yankee Fan, loved to walk, and enjoyed a good day at the Track. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends. Anthony's funeral will be held Thursday from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian burial at 10: 30 AM in Our Lady of Mt Carmel-St Ann Church 24 Mulberry St. Calling hours will be held from 5 PM to 7 PM on Wednesday in the funeral home.
