Warren E. Chenery, 74 of Worcester passed away Thursday, April 22nd, 2010, surrounded by his loving family after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his devoted wife of 31 years, Shirley (Belanger) Trottier Chenery; two daughters, Deborah L. Oleski of Brookfield and Patricia A. Shine and her husband Kevin of Sturbridge; a son, Brian E. Chenery of Sturbridge; three stepdaughters, Jean Jose and her husband William of Shrewsbury, Linda M. Rucci and her husband Robert of Venice, FL and Ann Surprise and her husband Stephen of Webster; a step son, Paul R. Trottier and his wife Doreen of Plymouth; a sister Mary Louise Johnson of Southbridge; 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. A sister, Beverly Farr, predeceased him. Mr. Chenery was born in Worcester, son of Arthur L. and Emma (Warren) Chenery. He graduated from Worcester Boys Trade. He worked for Washington Mills Abrasive Company as an over the road driver for 20 years before retiring in 1997. He previously worked at Kelly Buick for 20 years as a Service Manager. After his retirement he continued to stay active by working for Worcester Sand and Gravel for 6 years. Mr. Chenery was a member of Saint Anne's Church in Shrewsbury where he served as a Eucharistic Minister; he was a member of the Marine Corp League and a Staff Sergeant in the Massachusetts National Guard. He was also a former 3rd degree member of The Knights of Columbus, Pope John XXIII Council. Mr. Chenery loved fishing, boating and aviation. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. The family would like to thank Dr. Daniel Guilbert of the Fallon Clinic in Auburn for the outstanding care and compassion he had for Warren through theses hard times. Warren's funeral will be held Monday, April 26th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Saint Anne's Church, 130 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury. After cremation, burial will be later at the family's convenience. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family, Sunday, April 25th from 4 pm to 8 pm in the funeral home.
