Jackie Lee "Jack" Brown, 44, of Worcester, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, April 19, 2010, after a year-long battle with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. Jack is survived by his loving wife of over sixteen years, Holly R. (Richardson) Brown; his parents, Earl Lee and Emma R. (Steele) Brown of Worcester; a sister, Erma R. Dyer and her husband Jon of Worcester; his maternal grandmother, Ruth LeShore of Worcester; four uncles, Columbus Steele of Worcester, Tony LeShore of Boston, Jerry LeShore of Boston and Rick LeShore in Connecticut; four aunts, Robin LeShore of Worcester, Rose Norton of Miami, Addie Mae Brown of Biloxi, Mississippi and Estella Brown of Worcester; two brothers in law, Marvin Richardson and his wife Octavia of Washington, D.C and Dwight Richardson and his wife Josefina of Springfield; five nieces and nephews, Naomi Dyer of Worcester, Charissa Richardson in Florida, Donovan Richardson of Springfield, Tessy Texidor in Florida and Jy'Den Richardson of Washington, D.C.; many cousins and friends. Jack was born in Selma, Alabama and grew up in Worcester. He graduated from Holy Name High School and attended Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida. Jack worked as a manager for Checkerboard Printing in West Boylston, having previously worked for Northeast Battery and the Y.M.C.A. He was a member of Belmont A.M.E. Zion Church, where he was the Minister of Music. He was the Director of the church's Chancel Choir and Knights of Zion. He also served as a mentor in the Boys to Men Program. He enjoyed golf and was a member of the Worcester Black Golfers Association. Calling hours for Jack will be held Saturday morning, April 24, from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. in Belmont A.M.E. Zion Church, 55 Illinois Street, Worcester, followed immediately by a Funeral Service at 10 a.m. in the church. Interment will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
