Franklyn R. Williams Jr., of Webster MA, formerly of Worcester passed away peacefully on April 16, at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home, Worcester. Franklyn was born on May 6, 1921 to the late Franklyn R.Williams Sr. and Anne (Cowgill) Williams and was predeceased by his twin brother, Malcolm Williams. Franklyn was a graduate of North High School Worcester, WPI Worcester & MIT Cambridge MA. In 2004 he celebrated his 60th year reunion from WPI. Franklyn was an architect in the Worcester area for many years until his retirement thirty years ago. He was a member of the American Institute of Architects, and a member of the Worcester Rotary for over thirty years. Franklyn enjoyed traveling and had traveled extensively through Europe & Africa. He was an avid snow skier and skied many years at Mt Snow in Vermont, Waterville Valley NH., and most recently Mt Wachusett Princeton MA . He was a past President of the Worcester Ski Club. He had hiked Mt. Washington and skied Tuckermans Ravine on many occasions. Franklyn was a member of the WPI and MIT Alumnus Associations, He enjoyed water sking and spending time sailing with friends. He was always up for a challenge, and at the age of 82 he began taking piano lessons. He leaves his very close friends of over forty years who he called his family, Godson Tony DeBoise , his wife Missy, Floretta DeBoise, her husband Julius Simington, Frank DeBoise 3rd, & Marguerite Mullaney, & Frank DeBoise 4th. all of Worcester. Debbie DeBoise of New York City & Brien DeBoise his wife Pam of Littleton NH. He will be missed. In accordance with Franklyn's wishes there will be Memorial calling hours on Sunday April 25, 2010 from 2-4 PM at MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation Street, Worcester for those wishing to pay their respects. There will be no funeral, he will be cremated and placement of his ashes will be done privately at a later date.
