Aleksandr L. Groza, 48, of Worcester passed away Monday, April 12th from injuries suffered in an automobile accident. Aleksandr was born June 28th 1961, in Kaliningrad, Russia. He grew up in the Ukraine, graduated from High School and earned his bachelors and Masters Degrees from the Oil & Gas Institute in Ivano-Frankovsk, Ukraine before moving to Worcester over 9 years ago. Aleksandr is survived by his devoted wife of 26 years, Tatyana I. (Karpenko) Groza; his two children, Yulia Groza and her fiancée David Murray, and Alexsandr Groza all of Worcester; his parents, Leonid and Nina (Golys) Groza, and a sister, Natalia Groza, all in the Ukraine; Niece and friends. Aleksandr owned and operated A G Construction Company. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and most of all the ocean. He was a devoted family man who cherished his wife, children and friends. They were his inspiration and the devotion to a better life in the United States. Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours Thursday, April 15th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. A funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
