Andrea M Austin

Andrea M. (Consolmagno) Austin, 47, of Worcester, passed away Thursday April 8th 2010 with her loving family at her side after losing a courageous battle against Leukemia. Andrea is survived by her devoted husband of 15 years, David E. Austin, Jr.; their children Jessica Shepard of Boston, Derek Austin and his wife Marissa of Shrewsbury Monica and Jillian Austin both of Worcester. She also leaves her parents Donald and Marianne (Ziegler) Consolmagno of Worcester; a brother, Stephen Consolmagno and his wife Janet of Burlington, MA; her mother-in-law Dorothy Austin, Reid of Paxton, her father-in-law David Austin Sr. and his wife Sandra of Auburn; 4 grandchildren, Aubrey, Aiden, Destiny and Nathan: several neices, nephews and numerous friends whom she loved. . Andrea was born in Marlboro Ma. She graduated from Doherty Memorial High School and Brom's Academy of Cosmetology. Andrea then worked as a barber for many years, most recently at Plaza Barber Shop in Worcester until illness prevented her from continuing to work. Andrea's greatest joy was spending time with her family and her many friends for whom she cared deeply. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Sunday, April 11th from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. A Celebration of her Life funeral Mass will be held Monday, April 12th at 11:30 am in Blessed Sacrament Church, 555 Pleasant St. (please proceed directly to church). Burial will be in Moreland Cemetery, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Austin Family Benefit Fund, care of TD Bank, 295 Park Ave. Worcester Ma 01602. The family wishes to acknowledge the wonderful and caring staff at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Brigham & Women's Hospital for the care and comfort given to Andrea.
