Elizabeth H. (Harlow) Lazaro, 85, of Worcester, passed away, Monday, April 5, 2010 in Holy Trinity Eastern Orthodox Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She is survived by her husband of nearly sixty-seven years, Joseph Lazaro; four daughters, Diane Fruit and her husband Ronald of Fitchburg, Donna Charron of West Boylston, Ann Marie VanAuken and her husband Marty of Princeton, and Cynthia Turner of Woburn; three sisters, Barbara Johnson of Thomaston, ME, Vina Proctor of Waterville, ME, and Muriel Thorby in Tennessee; seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, a great-great grandson; many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by two granddaughters, Christina Charron and Lisa Fruit; she was also predeceased by six brothers and sisters, Myrtle Trull, Charles Harlow, George Harlow, John Harlow, Burnley Harlow and Glenda Harlow. Elizabeth was born in South Thomaston, Maine, daughter of Harold and Gladys (Smith) Harlow, and was educated in the Owl's Head, Maine school system. Mrs. Lazaro was a member of Saint Stephen Church. She believed that her greatest gift was that of her family. She was so proud that she was afforded the opportunity of assist in raising her grandchildrenher love for her family was unwavering. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and knitting and was known to make many home-made gifts. Calling hours for Elizabeth will be held Friday, April 9, from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, with a Mass at 11 a.m. in Saint Stephen's Church, 357 Grafton Street, Worcester.
