Dorothy R. Burdulis, 76, of Worcester passed away Wednesday, March 17th 2010 in St. Vincent Hospital after a short illness. Dorothy was born in Worcester, a daughter of Vincent and Mary (Bendoraitis) Burdulis. She graduated from Commerce High School and has lived here all her life. She was a simple woman, who dedicated her life to her employment and her family. She enjoyed the quiet of simple things of holidays, family gatherings and the fulfillment of her job. Dorothy was very proud of her accomplishment of being employed by Worcester Polytechnic Institute more than 56 years. She worked as a Secretary for various departments retiring in 2004 as Assistant to the Vice President for Alumni Affairs. Dorothy is survived by nieces and nephews including, Richard and Phyllis Canzano and their sons, Christopher, Stephen, Dana and Michael Canzano, Kenneth Burdulis and Robin Burdulis; Two sisters, Anne Swedis and Julia M. Ryan and a brother, Joseph Burdulis all pre deceased her. She was a member of St Casmir's Church. Dorothy's funeral will be held Saturday, March 20th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. with a Mass at 10:00 am in St Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln St. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Friday, March 19th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
