Aspreno P. Ciccarelli

Aspreno P. "Chick" Ciccarelli, 77, of Worcester died peacefully Wednesday March 10, 2010 in the Autumn Village Nursing Center with loved ones around him. His wife Mary (DePari) Ciccarelli died in 1998. Aspreno is survived by his son Diego F. Ciccarelli of Worcester, three brothers Orlando Ciccarelli of Ostia Rome, Augusto Ciccarelli of Salerno, and Giuseppe Ciccarelli of Aversa , two sisters, Iolanda Ciccarelli, and Evelina Savastano both of Sparanise, Italy, and many nephews and nieces here and in Italy. Aspreno was born in Provencia de Sparanise, Caserta Italy son of the late Diego and Annunziata (Mandara) Ciccarelli and came to the United States in 1954. He graduated high school in Italy. "Chick" was the founder and owner of Ciccarelli Travel Agency, and Appiana Tours both in Worcester on Shrewsbury St. which he ran for many years before he retired. He was also an Honorary General Consulate from the United States to Italy for many years. He attended Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann Church where was an active parishioner for many years, he was always there to help with his group of friends for all the parish festivals and feasts. "Chick" was a long time member and past president of the Men's San Vitaliano Society and was instrumental in organizing the Feast of San Vitaliano when it was held on Plum St. for many years. He was noted for always bringing top notch entertainers from New York to perform. He loved to walk especially on his beloved Shrewsbury St. He will be missed by his family and friends. A memorial Mass will be held at a date and time to be announced. There are no calling hours. And contributions may be made to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann Church Capital Campaign Fund 24 Mulberry St. Worcester, MA. 01605. The MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. is assisting the family with arrangements.
