Carole M. (Pepin) O'Loughlin, 71, of Worcester passed away Thursday, March 4th 2010 in the University of Massachusetts Hospital with her family by her side. Carole is survived by her devoted children, Kevin B. O'Loughlin of Boston, Steven C. O'Loughlin and his wife Jennifer of Charlton, Mary M. O'Loughlin with whom she lived, and Tara B. O'Loughlin of Worcester; two sisters, Therese H. Merservey of Millbury and Rita A Russo of Norwood; three grandchildren whom she cherished and adored, Alishya, John and Eric; nieces and nephews. Carole's son John F. O'Loughlin passed away in 1970. Carole was born in Worcester, a daughter of Wilfred J. and Mary H. (Mayotte) Pepin. She graduated from St Stephen's High School and has lived in Worcester most of her life. Carole worked in the medical billing field for many years, most recently at UMass Memorial until she retired in 2002. Carole was a member of St. Stephen's parish. She enjoyed spending time with her friends at the Worcester Senior Center, especially the Wednesday afternoon knitting group. Carole had many hobbies including gardening, knitting, quilting and sewing. She also enjoyed watching the Boston Red Sox and was a member of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. All that knew her will miss her dearly. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the physicians and staff at Cardiology Consultants of Central Mass for the care and support they provided for many years. The funeral will be held Monday, March 8th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL; 370 Plantation St. with a Mass at 10:00 am St. Stephen's Church, 357 Grafton St. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Sunday, March 7th from 3 p.m to 6 p.m. in the funeral home.
