June 19, 1973 — February 24, 2010

Scott R. Zenaro Sunrise: 6:27 a.m. June 19, 1973 Sunset: 3:42 a.m. February 24, 2010 Scott R. Zenaro, 36, of Shrewsbury, passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2010, with his loving family at his side, after a courageous six year battle with Ewing's Sarcoma. Scott is survived by his loving parents, Ronald C. and Carol A. (Giarusso) Zenaro of Shrewsbury; a sister, Carron A. Riddle and her husband Richard E. Riddle and their three children, Lauren, Morgan and Michael all of Ipswich; two brothers, Michael D. Zenaro and his wife Kristine L. Zenaro and their daughter, Jordan of Sutton and Paul R. Zenaro and his children Samantha and twin boys Nicholas and Matthew of Sturbridge; and his loyal Terrier, "Mama". Scott was born in Worcester and grew up in Shrewsbury, graduating from Shrewsbury High School. Scott worked with his family at RAYCO Car Electronics in Shrewsbury and Auburn, in sales and managerial positions. He enjoyed riding his custom motorcycle and was a car enthusiast. Scott also liked to share his musical talent by playing drums and enjoyed snowmobiling, water skiing and playing golf. He was an inspiration to his family and friends. His family would like to thank his doctors at Mass General Hospital, the kind people at the Dr. Sant Chawla Sarcoma Center in Santa Monica, California, and the care givers at EPEIUS Bio Technology Clinic in Manila, Philippines. Scott and his family owe a warm heartfelt thank you to the Lazarex Cancer Foundation in California. Lazarex came through with generosity affording Scott a "second chance at life" and the ability to seek experimental treatment in California and The Philippines, when he was told there was nothing more that could be done with conventional treatment. Through the foundations generosity, Scott was allowed to live in Marina Del Rey and in Manila, while receiving treatments and living a normal life, for an additional two and a half years. He became the foundation's "poster child" and was their longest living survivor. His family will continue to keep his memory alive through Lazarex Foundation by raising donations and awareness. To learn more about Lazarex please visit www. Lazarex.org. Calling hours for Scott will be held tonight, Friday, February 26, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. His Funeral Mass will be held Saturday at 9 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel-Saint Ann Church, 24 Mulberry Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury.
