Anthony J. "Truffy" Trafecante Jr, 77, of Worcester passed away Monday, February 15th 2010 in the University of Massachusetts Hospital. Anthony was born in Worcester on Christmas day December 25th 1932, the son of the late Anthony J. Trafecante, Sr and Lena (Bronzo) Trafecante. He joined the U.S. Army to serve his country during the Korean Conflict and has lived here all his life. Anthony is survived by his wife of 51 years, Dolores M. (Davini) Trafecante; a son, Anthony J. Trafecante, III and his wife Gina of Rutland; a daughter, Tamra A. Mungo and her husband Graziano of Worcester; a brother, Daniel Trafecante of Northboro; three sisters, Catherine Duquette and Marilyn Lizotte both of Shrewsbury and Joan Gabrielle of Worcester; six grandchildren, Anthony IV, Carissa, Brianna and Marlena, Cinzia and Graziano; nieces, nephews and friends. A brother Gerald Trafecante pre deceased him. Anthony worked as a bartender for various places including, Arams Lounge on route 20, Bonfire in Westboro and retiring from Fat Tony's. At one time he owned and operated the Crescent Café on Canterbury St. Anthony was a member of Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, and a former member of the Eastside Improvement Club. The funeral will be held Thursday, February 18th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. with a Mass at 11:00 am in Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, 24 Mulberry St. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. A period of calling hours will be held from 9:00 am to 10:30 am in the funeral home prior to the mass.
