Helen C. (Manganello) Vigeant, 86, of North Grafton, formerly of Cutler Street in Worcester, passed away, Wednesday, February 10, 2010, in her home, surrounded by her loving family, joining her daughter, Loreen J. Manzaro, who predeceased her in 1996. She is survived by her loving husband and close companion of sixty-two years, Alfred F. Vigeant; a daughter, Joyce D. San and her husband Vuth, with whom she lived; son in law, John V. Manzaro of Sutton; a grandson Nicholas J. Manzaro of Wenatchee, Washington; a great granddaughter, Valarie Loreen Manzaro; two sisters, her identical twin Dora P. Manganello of Shrewsbury and Gloria M. Maurais of North Berwick, Maine; many cousins, nieces and nephews. Helen was also predeceased by three brothers, Richard, Arthur and Alfred Manganello. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Lawrence and Clementina (Dentato) Manganello and graduated from Commerce High School and Salter's Secretarial College. Helen worked for many years in the office of Sol & S. Marcus Company, a women's department store in downtown Worcester. She was a member of Saint Stephen's Church. She enjoyed reading and cooking and baking for her family and friends. She and Alfred loved to travel, especially to Hawaii, where they visited many times throughout their years together. She was a warm, kind, loving and generous person who cared sincerely and deeply for the concerns of others; everyone who knew her, loved her. A gathering of family and friends will take place on Thursday, February 18, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, followed by a Mass at 11 a.m. in Saint Stephen's Church, 357 Grafton Street, Worcester.
