Francesca (Piombino) Grimaldi, 58, of Worcester died peacefully Saturday January 16, 2010 in the Metro West Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Francesca is survived by her Husband of 3 years Thomas Chviruk, two sons, Albert Grimaldi of Worcester, Francesco Grimaldi of Worcester, two daughters Christina McAuliffe and her husband Edward, and Anna Brigley all of Holden. A brother Angelo Piombino and his wife Gianna, and a sister Maria Gazzillo and her husband Pietro all of Worcester. Also surviving Francesca are her loving grandchildren; Dillon, Keara, Gianna, Christian, and David. And several nieces and nephews. Francesca was born in Caserta, Italy daughter of the late Francesco and Angelina (Piombino) Piombino, and came to the Unites States in 1969. She graduated High School in Italy. Francesca was the Catering Supervisor at the UMASS Medical Center for over twenty years and was still working there up until her passing. She attended Our Lady Of Mt. Carmel- St. Ann Church. She loved to cook and play cards and really enjoyed going to work. But her most precious times were those she spent with her family. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Francesca's funeral will be held Tuesday from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00AM in Our Lady Of Mt. Carmel- St. Ann Church 24 Mulberry St. Calling hours will be held Monday (tonight) from 5-8PM in the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Johns Cemetery. In lieu of Flowers contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
