Elaine T. (Remillard) Martellotta, 79, of Auburn, died peacefully Tuesday December 29, 2009 in the Beaumont Nursing Center surrounded by her family. Elaine is survived by her loving family; her husband of 36 years John E. Martellotta, a son John M. Rubaszko of Shrewbury,a daughter Janis, four step daughters, Maureen Kane, Margaret Connolly, Maria Keevan, all of Worcester, and Michelle Campbell of TN. Two grandsons, four great grandchildren, ten step grandchildren, and five great step grandchildren, nephews, and nieces. Elaine was born in Worcester daughter of the late John and M. Bernadette (Lemay) Remillard and lived here all her life. She was a graduate of Fitchburg State College and Worcester State College where she received her Masters Degree in Education. Elaine was a guidance counselor for Worcester Public Schools and the Boston Public Schools for many years before she retired. She was a long time member of Our Lady of Loreto Church were she was very active, and was also a volunteer at the UMASS Medical Hospital Pediatric Department,and was a member of the Worcester County Personnel and Guidance Association. Elaine enjoyed cooking, arts and crafts, woodworking, and knitting, she made many afghans to donate to the St Vincent De Paul Society. But her most precious times were those spent with her family. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Elaine's funeral will be held Saturday from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30AM in Our Lady Of Loreto Church 37 Massasoit Rd. Calling hours will be from 8AM to 10:00AM on Saturday morning only. Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery.
