Lucia Roy

Lucia "Lucy" (Scirpoli) Roy, 88, of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully Thursday, December 24th 2009 with family at her side. Lucy's husband Harold J. Roy passed away in 1983. She is survived by her devoted son, Bruce Ekengren and his wife Theresa with whom she lived; two grandchildren Kim C. & Jennifer L. Ekengren; two great grandchildren, Jarrod C. and Aysha V. Ekengren; a sister, Lillian "Lil" Loughlin of Shrewsbury; nieces, nephews and friends. Two brothers, Michael & Matteo Scirpoli; and three sisters, Grace Manzi, Antoinette "Donnie" Manzi and Rafaela Rae" McDonald all pre deceased her. She was born in Worcester, a daughter of Frank and Maria (Notarangelo) Scirpoli and lived more than 52 years in Holden before moving to Shrewsbury 13 years ago. Lucy worked as a nurse's aide several years for Holden Hospital. Lucy was a member of St Anne's Church. Funeral services and burial in Mt View Cemetery will be private. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Camillus Health Center, in care of the Activities Department, 447 Hill Street Whitinsville, MA 01588.
