Nancy (Tonelli) Zecco, 87 of Holden, a dedicated mother and grandmother passed away Tuesday, December 22nd 2009 in her home with her family at her side. Nancy was born March 22nd 1922, in Mondolfo, Italy a daughter of Joseph and Franca (Riga) Tonelli. She grew up in Worcester, lived many years in Shrewsbury and most of her life in Holden. Nancy's beloved husband of 52 years, George J. Zecco, Sr. passed away in 1994. She is survived by her daughter and best friend, Nancie Zecco with whom she lived; two sons, George J. Zecco, Jr. of Holliston and Joseph A. Zecco and his wife Lori of Ocala Florida; a cherished sister, Rose DiTerlizzi of Shrewsbury; five adored grandchildren, Maria Rose, Jennifer, Jason, Michael and Jessica; three great grandchildren, Max, Trey, and Katrina; many other nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends; A son, Paul S. Zecco passed away December 5th 2005. A brother, Anzo Tonelli also pre deceased her. Nancy worked as a sales lady for the Big Y supermarket chain in the Holden store many years, numerous times earning honors as the Northeast Top sales lady for the company. She was a member of St. Anne's Church, its women's guild, the Our Lady of Loreto leisure club and the Mt Carmel Golden Years. Her life's inspiration was her family. She most enjoyed the company of her daughter, sister and grandchildren. She cherished the time she could spend with them. They truly were her life. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Sunday, December 27th from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Her funeral will be celebrated Monday, December 28th from the funeral home with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St Anne's Church, 130 Boston Turnpike Rd.
