Mentana Gatti

Mentana Gatti, 99 of Worcester, passed away peacefully Friday, December 18, 2009 in Notre Dame Long Term Care Center. Mentana is survived by many cousins. She is predeceased by her three siblings, Aldo, Ora and Volga Gatti. Mentana was born June 7, 1910 the daughter of the late Gaetano and Maria (Galasini) Gatti. She graduated from North High School and later went to New Hampshire State College and to Clark University where she received her degrees. She was a teacher and the former principal of Clark Street School before retiring. She was a member of the Phi Lambda Beta and of the Massachusetts Teacher's Association. The family would like to thank the staff at Notre Dame Long Term Care Center particularly John for there compassionate and dedicated care. Funeral services are private. MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, are assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers donations are to be made to: Our Lady of Mt.
