Doris Labossiere

Doris (Lacey) Labossiere, 84, of Shrewsbury, passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2009, in her home, surrounded by her loving family. Her husband, Woodward Labossiere predeceased her in 1995. Dot is survived by her loving children, a son, Donald W. Labossiere and his wife Gail of Leicester; four daughters, Donna M. Filipkowski and her husband Stan of Worcester, Barbara D. Mancuso and her husband Tony of Worcester, June Sullivan of Worcester, and Linda L. Algieri of Shrewsbury; a brother, Edmund Lacey in South Carolina; ten grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by eight brothers and five sisters. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Timothy and Marie (Charron) Lacey. She was a member of Saint Anne's Church. She enjoyed playing cards and BINGO. Doris was a woman of simplicity, and enjoyed years of holidays and family functions. She always had something to offer you when you went to visit, whether it be a cup of tea a bite to eat or just good conversation. Doris' family would like to thank everyone at VNA Care Hospice for their support, especially Paula for her personal touch and caring; and a heartfelt thanks to Doris' beloved granddaughter, Chrissy for her tender and loving care throughout her illness. Calling hours will be held Friday, December 18, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday morning, December 19, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park.
