Lucy A. (Curci) Russo, 89, of Worcester passed away Thursday, December 10th 2009 in her home, surrounded by her devoted family. Lucy's husband of 66 years, Michael J. Russo, passed away November 12th of this year. She is survived by a son, Marino Russo and his wife, Melanie, in Australia; daughters Marie Hendrickx and her husband, Brian, and Lucretia Bisceglia all of Worcester; a sister, Grace Curci of Worcester; 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; a great great grandchild; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Two brothers, Mauro A. and Nicholas M. Curci predeceased her. She was born in Shrewsbury, a daughter of Francesco and Lucrezia (Lorusso) Curci and lived in Worcester all her life. Lucy worked as sample maker for Come Play Products before retiring. She served as a volunteer for the St. Francis Home and was an enthusiastic member of a candle pin bowling league for many years. Lucy was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, its Golden Years Society and the Maria SS Addeloratta Society. We would like to give our special thanks to Nana Addabor who took such loving care of Lucy and to the New England Dream Center staff who brought such pleasure into the last few months of her life. Lucy's funeral will be held Monday, December 14th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, 24 Mulberry St. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family, Sunday, December 13th from 4 pm to 7 pm in the funeral home.
