Gertrude Ann Richard

Gertrude A. (Lacroix) Richard, 75, passed away in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, December 8, 2009. She is survived by her four sons, Randy Richard of North Grosvenordale of CT, Raymond Richard of North Swanzey, NH, Paul Richard of Auburn and Gerard Richard of Sutton; a daughter, Julie Richard of Shrewsbury, with whom she lived. Two sisters, Jeanette Scheurer of Templeton and Mabel Hmura of Naples,FL; twelve grandchildren and one great-grandson. A son, Barry Richard died in 1980 and two sisters, Clair Brunelle formerly of Worcester and Florence Desaulniers of Oneco, CT. predecease her. Gertrude was born in Worcester, daughter of M. Joseph Lacroix and Adelia (Boudreau) Lacroix and graduated from Holy Name High School. She moved to Shrewsbury in 1961. Ms. Richard was a long-time employee of the former Spag's Supply. Her family would like to express their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the staff of Summit Elder Care for their care, compassion and support. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 10th from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. A Mass celebrating her life will be held on Friday, December 11th, at 10 a.m. in Saint Anne Church, 130 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury.
