George J Pearson

George J. Pearson, 61, of Auburn, passed away Monday, December 7, 2009, in the comfort of his home. George is survived by his two daughters, Priscilla Sotak and her husband Derek of Worcester and Christine Zelnak and her husband William of Sturbridge; his parents, Walter and Nina (Cutroni) Pearson of Worcester; two brothers, Thomas Pearson of Leicester and Gary Pearson of Barre; a grandson, Warren Zelnak; his close friends and caregivers Rick and Joanne Cooper of Auburn; several nieces and nephews. George was born in Worcester and graduated from Commerce High School; he then served his nation proudly in the United States Army. Mr. Pearson was a truck driver for Polar Beverages in Worcester, having previously worked for International Hearing. He enjoyed classic cars and attending car shows. He was a former member of the Spencer Lions Club. Calling hours will be held Thursday morning from 10 a.m. until 12 Noon in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, followed immediately by a funeral service at 12 Noon in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Diabetes Association at www.diabetes.org.
