Bertrand A. Angers, 93, of Worcester, MA and Deerfield Beach, FL, passed away in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, December 4, 2009. Bertrand was pre-deceased by his wife of seventy-one years, Theresa (Langevin) Angers, two brothers, Aimee and Eudore, two sisters, Grace Adams and Eva Ruth. He is survived by his three daughters, Claire L. Angers, Cecile A. Zani and her husband David P. Zani, and Helen M. Lynch and her husband Thomas J. Lynch; ten grandchildren and their spouses; and eighteen great grandchildren. Bertrand graduated from Saint Joseph's High School and completed an Associate's Degree in Management from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He retired as foreman, after forty-four years at Reed Rolled Thread Die Company. Bertrand was a founding member of Saint Joan of Arc Church. He was an avid golfer, and a founding member of Whitinsville Country Club. He enjoyed all aspects of life. His deep faith and devotion to his family were central to his life. His family would like to express their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the staff of Jewish Home Hospice, especially to Heather, Melissa, Suzanne, Demaris, and Sandy for the care and comfort they provided to Bertrand and his family throughout his recent illness. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 8, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. in Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, MA. A Mass celebrating his life will be held on Wednesday, December 9, at 10 a.m. in Saint Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln Street, Worcester, MA followed by interment in Notre Dame Cemetery.
