William P. Olson, 50, of Worcester passed away Sunday, November 22nd 2009 surrounded by his family. William was born August 19th 1959 in Worcester; He graduated from Holy Name High School class of 1978 and has lived here all his life. He is survived by his beloved wife of 26 years Phyllis R. (Phenix) Olson; two cherished daughters, Samantha and Shelby Olson; his parents Robert Olson Sr. and Judith (LaComfora) Olson; his three brothers, Robert Olson Jr. and his wife Leslie in Florida, Edward Olson on Cape Cod, Peter Olson and his wife Kerry of Blackstone; a sister, Christine Dodd and her husband Alan in N. Carolina; his mother in law Sally (Belinskas) Phenix; a brother in law Patrick Phenix and his wife Doreen; three sisters in law, Paula Mariano and her husband James, Pamela Rafferty, and Michelle Phenix all of Worcester; his maternal Grandfather, Francis Freiner of Webster; many neices, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. William worked as shipping supervisor for Old Dominion Freight in Cumberland R.I. He also worked in the circulation department of the Worcester Telegram. He was a member of Holy Family Parish at St Joseph Church, and the Rhode Island Teamster Union. His family especially his wife and daughters were his life's joy. He cherished them and the times he spent with and around them. They were his inspiration. He was also a dedicated inspiration to all his nephews and nieces. William coached Jack Barry Little League Softball, and was a huge sports fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. A funeral Mass for Bill will be held Wednesday, November 25th at 11:00 a.m. in St Joseph Church, 35 Hamilton St. Calling hours and burial are private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Samantha and Shelby Olson, educational fund, care of Commerce Bank, Grafton St. South Plaza, Worcester 01604.
