Anthony Groccia, 63, of Worcester, passed away Wednesday, November 11th 2009 in St. Vincent Hospital. Anthony is survived by his companion of 32 years Christina Erickson; three sons, Keith and Kurt Erickson, and Carl Erickson and his fiancée Tammy O'Brien all of Worcester; four brothers, George and Jerry Groccia of Worcester, Ralph Groccia of Millbury and Salvatore Groccia Jr. in Florida; three sisters, Louise Ginisi , Beatrice Arturo and Delores Moroski all of Worcester; many nieces and nephews. A son, Anthony Groccia Jr., a brother, Joseph Groccia and a sister Elizabeth "Betty" Geldart all pre deceased him. He was born in Worcester, a son of Salvatore Groccia, Sr. and Rose (Perri) Groccia and has lived here all his life. Anthony worked as foremen for DeAngelis Railroad Construction Company many years before retiring. The funeral will be held Monday, November 16th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. with a Mass at 9:30 am in Our Lady of Loreto Church, 37 Massasoit Rd. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Sunday, November 15th from 3 pm to 6 pm in the funeral home.
