Ramon Antonio Martinez

Ramon A. Martinez, 83, of Worcester passed away Friday, November 6, 2009 in Golden Living Center, the Hermitage. Ramon is survived by his wife of fifty-one years Juana M. (Cueto) Martinez; three daughters, Maiela Martinez, Juana Martinez and her partner, Lee Beaucage all of Worcester and Douglas Martinez and her husband Erasmo Pena of Brooklyn, NY; five sons, Ramon, Jr., Rafael, Carlos, Emmanuel and Miguel Martinez all of Worcester; two sisters, Edita Skoglund of Northborough and Ana Josefa Hernandez of the Dominican Republic, 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren. He is predeceased by a son-in-law, Rogelio Duco. Ramon was born, August 31, 1926, in Santo Domingo, DR; the son of Ramon Peralta and Dorila Martinez. Ramon entered into the Dominican Republic Navy retiring in 1967 as a Sergeant Major. He settled in New York for several years and then came to Worcester in 1978. Ramon worked as a machine operator for the Belden Wire and Cable Company before retiring. He then worked for Wal-Mart as a greeter till January of 2006. He was a member at the Adventista del Septimo Dia Church. Ramon's funeral services are private.
