Gary L Orlando

Gary L. "Gary O" Orlando, 55 of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully Sunday, November 8th 2009 with his family at his side. Gary is survived by his devoted and beloved wife of 26 years Danielle E. (Engquist) Orlando; his cherished mother, Helen J. (Russell) Orlando; a sister, Sharon Champlin of Cranston, R.I.; his mother in law, Dorothea J. Engquist of Worcester; a brother in law Dr. Jonathan Engquist and a sister in law Robin Engquist; several nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins. A brother, Russell Orlando passed away in 2005, and his father Vincent Orlando also predeceased him. He was born in Chelsea, graduated from Shrewsbury High School and Sylvania Technical School and has lived in Shrewsbury all his life. Gary worked over 12 years for the Prime Computer Company. Gary was an extremely caring, outgoing person with a great sense of humor. He was an accomplished Guitar player, playing since the age of six. At one time he played in many area bands. He loved to fish and would travel to Lake Ontario and the Caribbean many times. He also enjoyed cooking, and traveling to the destinations in the Caribbean including Costa Rica, Jamaica and Mexico. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family, Saturday, November 14th from 10:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. followed by a prayer service in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 350 Plantation St. Worcester 01604.
