Florence A. (Teso) DiPadua, 84, of Worcester died peacefully Saturday November 7, 2009 in the UMASS Medical Center with her daughter and sister by her side after a long illness. Florence is survived by her loving husband of 52 years Pasquale "Patsy" DiPadua, her devoted daughter Lisa A. DiPadua-Buffone, and her husband Steven.a sister Antoinette "Ann" Smith, and a brother George Teso of Belmont, nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces, and her granddog Cocoa. Florence was predeceased by three brothers Vincent, Cosmo, and Sal Teso, and five sisters; Ida Mitchell, Louisa Mancini, Helen "Alice" Leto, Rose Teso, and Marguerita Teso. Florence was born in Worcester daughter of Antonio and Josephine (Zollo) Teso and lived here all her life.She was a graduate of Commerce High School and The Salter Secretarial School. Florence worked as a secretary in the X Ray department at the former Worcester City Hospital, and later for the Worcester Police Department. She was one of the first women to work there. She retired as the Secretary to the City Of Worcester Tax Collector were she worked for thirteen years. Florence was a long time member of Our Lady Of Mt Carmel-St Ann Church and its Golden Years Club, She enjoyed dancing, crocheting, and loved a good day at the Casino Bingo. She won a City Hall bowling championship with her brother George. However her most treasured moments were those times she spent with her family and friends. She will be dearly missed by her devoted husband, daughter, family and friends. Florence's funeral will be held THURSDAY from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St.with a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00AM in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel - St Ann Church 24 Mulberry St. A calling hour will be held Thursday morning only from 9:00AM to 10:30AM. Interment will be in St. Johns Cemetery.
