Mary F. (Chilorio) Buffone, 90, formerly of 43 Wilson St passed away peacefully Thursday, October 29th 2009 with her family by her side. The love of Mary's life for over 62 years, Dominic J. Buffone passed away June 28th of this year. She is survived by her cherished family, her son, Francis J. Buffone and his wife Cynthia of Sturbridge and her daughter, Mary E. Marcinkus and her husband Joseph of Shrewsbury; her six beloved grandchildren, Vincent, Mark, Matthew, and Stephen Buffone, Karyn and Kevin Marcinkus; many nieces and nephews. Three brothers, Mario "Mike", Joseph and Anthony Chilorio, and two sisters, Rose Pelletier and Beatrice Patti all pre deceased her. She was born in Shrewsbury, a daughter of Cosmo and Carmella (Catanzaro) Chilorio. She attended Classical High school and has lived here all her life. Mary was a member of Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, and its golden years. She was also a member of the Leisure club at Our Lady of Loreto Church and the Mt Carmel Striders. Mary annually attended the Novena to St Francis at St John's Church. She loved to travel, to spend time with her family and friends especially her grandchildren. She loved to cook, and bake, especially cookies. The funeral will be held Monday, November 2ns from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St with a mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, 24 Mulberry St. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Sunday, November 1st from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, renovation fund, 24 Mulberry St. 01604. The Buffone family would like to especially thank the Staff and Nurses for the Christopher House for the care, compassion and comfort they gave to our mother during her stay there.
