Ignazio Colletta

Viesta (Foggia) Italy - Ignazio Colletta, 70 of Vieste, Italy formerly of Worcester passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at home surrounded by his loving family. He leaves behind his loving wife of 49 years Angela (Corricelli) Colletta, three sons: Giuseppe Colletta and his wife Ellen of Rockton, IL, Matteo Colletta and his wife Deborah of Worcester, and Leonardo Colletta and his wife LaPhael of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; 6 grandchildren Julian, Ignazio (Joe), Katie, Angela, Robert and Alex, along with many nieces and nephews. Ignazio also leaves a brother Leonardo Colletta, three sisters Carmela Scattino, Antonieta Olivieri and Francesca Grillo. Ignazio was pre-deceased by two sisters Luisa Solitro and Lucia Esposito. Ignazio was born in Vieste Italy, son of Giuseppe and Michelina (Grillo) Colletta. He moved to America in 1975 and resided in Worcester with his wife and family before returning to Italy in 1991. He worked for American Fabrication Company for more than two years and at Heald Machine Company for fourteen years. While living in Italy he enjoyed working on his farm, making wine and tending to his olive groves harvesting the many fruits of the land. Funeral Services and burial were held October 28th 2009 in Vieste, Italy. A Memorial Mass will be held Sunday, November 1, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Loreto Church, 37 Massasoit Road.
