Evelyn L. (Jones) Dyer, 84, Worcester, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2009 in Memorial Hospital, with her family at her side. Her husband, Bernard N. Dyer, pre-deceased her in 1984. Evelyn is survived by six children, Brien Dyer and his wife Susan of Dayton, Ohio, Bernard G. Dyer of Bradford, Vermont, Sheila Dahlgren of Worcester, Michael Dyer and his wife Ann of Charlton, Maureen Dyer of Centreville, Virginia; and Shawn Dyer of Worcester; and a special "son" Bobby St. George of Manchester, New Hampshire; nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, William Jones. Born in Worcester, daughter of William and Margaret (Healy) Jones, she graduated from Worcester's North High School and has lived here all her life; the last two years in the loving care of the Jewish Healthcare Center of Worcester. She was a member of Saint Stephen's Church, and was known for her love of children. "Ma" was everybody's mother. The funeral will be held Friday, October 30, from MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, with a Mass at Saint Stephen's Church, at 10:00 a.m., 357 Grafton Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
