Vincent A. Penny, 85, of Worcester, died unexpectedly Friday October 23, 2009 at home.He is survived by his loving family; five brothers Robert, Joseph, and William Penny all of Florida, David Penny and Samuel Penny Jr. both of Worcester, many nephews and nieces and great nephews and great nieces that loved him dearly. Vincent was predeceased by three brothers; Walter, Francis, and Frederick Penny. He was born in Worcester son of the late Samuel and Harriet (Sullivan) Penny and lived here all his life. Vincent was a graduate of St Peters High School, and Worcester Boys Trade School.Vincent served his country proudly as a Navy Veteran during WW11.He worked as a Master Plumber for many years for the Local #4 Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union before he retired. He was a member of St. Stephen's Church, the Worcester Lodge Of Elks, Brown Square Civic Club, the YMCA, and the Local Union #4. Vincent was a semi pro football player in his younger years, and loved to play pool, and watch football. He loved a good day at the track. He was a gentle man who was loved by his family and friends. He will be sadly missed. Vincent's funeral will be held Tuesday October 27 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30AM in St. Stephen's Church 357 Grafton St. Calling hours in the funeral home are from 4-7PM on Monday.
