Josephine R. Pecorelli, 90, of Worcester, passed away, Saturday, October 24, 2009, in Saint Vincent Hospital. Josephine is survived by two sisters, Phyllis Kudzal and her husband Felix of Holden and Nancy Pereria and her husband Anthony of Saratoga, California; twelve nieces and nephews, Kenneth Frost of Fairfax, Virginia, Patricia Steinhilber of Auburn; Lois Frost-McKeon of New Hope, MN, Jane Erickson of Shrewsbury, Phillip Pereria of San Jose, CA, Donna Krey of Campbell, CA, Michael Pereria of Santa Clara, CA, Andrew Pereria of Santa Cruz, CA, Nancy Day of West Valley City, UT, Samuel Pecorelli of Denver, CO, John Pecorelli of Salt Lake, UT, and Sally Jenks of Alpine, UT; many great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother and two sisters, Joseph Pecorelli, Lena Frost, and Eva Pecorelli. Born in Worcester, daughter of Sergio and Isabella (Fasano) Pecorelli, and has lived here all her life. Josephine worked for many years in the garment business and retired as a supervisor. She was a member of Our Lady of Loreto Church, where she was active in many programs, social gathering, and festivals, and a member of the International Lady Garment Workers of America. She was a tireless volunteer, having volunteered for over twenty years at the Lutheran Home for the Aged; she also found time to volunteer at Saint Francis Home. The funeral for Josephine will be held Wednesday, October 28, from MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Loreto Church, 33 Massasoit Road, Worcester. Interment will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, October 27, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
