Olga M. (Awad) Arbor, 88, of Lodonderry, New Hampshire, formerly of Sewall Street North in Boylston, passed away, Friday, October 23, 2009 in Elliot Hospital, Manchester, New Hapshire. Her husband, Reuben Arbor, pre-deceased her in February 2008. Olga is survived by a daughter, Ann Arbor of Washington, D.C.; a son, Alan M. Arbor and his wife Kathy of Londonderry; a sister, Lydia Merhib-Perkins of Worcester; two grandsons, Christopher and Keith Arbor; three great-grandchildren, Elijah, Aaron, and Douglas Arbor; many nieces and nephews. Olga was pre-deceased by two brothers and three sisters, Alfred and George Awad, Louise Lawrence, Alma Salem, and Pauline Cicero. Born in Worcester, daughter of Assad and Freida (David) Awad, she graduated from Worcester's High School of Commerce. She worked for many years as a Bursar for Quinsigamond Community College for many years, before she retired. She had previously worked as a bookkeeper at S.I. Howard Glass and Wright Line. She was a member of Saint George Orthodox Cathedral and it's Women's Club. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Oak Hill Post 381 American Legion, and was active in the Boylston Couples Club. She enjoyed bowling, golf, and playing cards. Her family and friends will always remember her cooking, not only for a personal dinner, but also for large functions at her church and at other organizations. Olga was a loving woman who thrived on the love she had for her family. The funeral service for Olga will be held Monday, October 26, at 10 a.m. in Saint George Orthodox Cathedral, 30 Anna Street, Worcester. Interment, at her husband's side, will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Boylston. Calling hours will be held Sunday, October 25, from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, a Trisagion Service will be at 5:30 p.m. in the funeral home, during calling hours.
