Marjorie A. LeFurgey died on Thursday, October 22, 2009 in the care of loving friends and caregivers at Notre Dame Long Term Care Center, Inc. after a short illness. Marjorie was born August 4, 1920 in Waterbury, CT and lived in Worcester most of her life. Marjorie's husband, William LeFurgey died in 1991 and her son, Allen LeFurgey died in 2007. Marjorie enjoyed life to the fullest even in the times of challenge and sadness. She was a wonderful caregiver to her son, and after his death found comfort and happiness in her new home at Notre Dame du Lac Assisted Living. In addition to her family responsibilities, Marge worked in various retail stores and volunteered at a day care center where she thoroughly enjoyed playing and caring for the children. Marge was known for her love of music and singing. She was a member of the former singing group "The Goldenaires" and the chorus and bell choir at Notre Dame du Lac. She loved taking walks and experiencing the beauty of nature. Marge enjoyed her beautiful home and many new friends at du Lac, all of whom will miss her sparkling smile, generosity and exuberance. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Chapel at Notre Dame du Lac, 555 Plantation Street, Worcester on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 10:00 am. Followed by burial at St. John's Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers those who wish may give a donation to Notre Dame du Lac for use in the restoration of the Chapel windows. Mercadante Funeral Home and Chapel is entrusted with the arrangements.
