Michael Santa Maria

Michael M. Santa Maria, 92, of West Boylston passed away Thursday, October 15th wife his wife by his side. Michael is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years a date they would have celebrated on Sunday, Gloria J. (Ricci) Santa Maria; his devoted children, Michael Santa Maria and his wife Jeannine, and Carolyn Moses all of Worcester; two brothers, John Santa Maria of Millbury, and Joseph Santa Maria of Uxbridge; five sisters, Rose Puleo, Esther Nuzzolilio and Annette Santa Maria all of Worcester; Nellie Martone of Shrewsbury, and Ann DiVerdi of West Boylston; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Frank and Angelo Santa Maria and a sister, Mary Rucci all pre deceased him. Michael was born in Worcester, one of eleven children of the late Angelo and Nancy (Bisceglia) Santa Maria; He grew up and lived in Worcester until moving to West Boylston over 15 years ago. Michael worked many years as a machinist for the George Meyers Corporation before retiring in 1974. He was a member of Our Lady of Good Council Church, a former member of Our Lady of Mt Carmel-St Ann. Michael was a gentle, quite man who cherished his family and found his most pleasurable moments with and around them. He will be greatly missed. The funeral will be held Monday, October 19th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL; 370 Plantation St with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 111 Worcester St. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Sunday, October 18th from 4 pm to 6 pm in the funeral home.
