Jose Luis Mangual, 61, of Worcester, passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2009, in his home, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his daughter, Ramona M. Emmond of Sunapee, New Hampshire; a brother, John B. Mangual and his wife Lorraine of Marlborough; six sisters, Lydia E. Santiago and her husband Edwin of Hamden, CT, Ida L. Mangual in Puerto Rico, Sonia Mangual-Corazzini and her husband Henry of Worcester, Maria Mangual of Greenville, NC, Josephine Mangual of Worcester and Madeline Mangual of Boston; three grandchildren, Marley, Matthew and Madison Emmond; many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by two brothers, Angel Mangual and Bienvenido Manguel, Jr. Jose was born in Fajardo, Puerto Rico, the son of Bienvenido and Rafaela (Andino) Mangual, and moved to Central Massachusetts, finally settling in Worcester, where he has lived most of his life. Jose worked for twenty five years at Astra Zeneca Pharmaceuticals in Westborough, retiring earlier this year as a supervisor in facilities management. Jose was a hard working man, who enjoyed the quiet times he spent with family and friends. He enjoyed music, especially the Beatles and other classic rock. Calling hours will be held Saturday, October 17, from 10:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. A Prayer service will be held at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
