BIOGRAPHY Marie- Rose O. (Gemme) Brazeau, 86, of Worcester was surrounded by her family when she was taken home to heaven by the angels on Thursday October 8, 2009. She was born in Worcester daughter of Paul and Olive (Bolduc) Gemme. Mrs. Brazeau was a graduate of St. Anne's Academy in Marlboro and she attended Becker College. She was employed by the former Ware Pratt Company, Linde Air, Norton Company & State Mutual Insurance Company. She was a lecturer for Weight Watchers for many years and was an insurance agent for U.S.J.B. She was past president of St. Joseph's Women's Club and past secretary of the Society of Dames de Saint Anne. She was a member of the women's golf league at the Heritage Country Club for many years. Mrs. Brazeau was a lifetime member of St. Joseph's Church in Worcester and was active in the Save St. Joseph Church in the early 1990's. Her favorite time of the year was Christmas Eve. The "French Reveillon" when her family would gather around the piano as she played Christmas carols and later feasted on meat pies (tourtiere). She loved cooking and feeding anyone who came into her kitchen. You always left her home feeling better than when you walked in. The greatest joy and honor of her life was being a mom and Memere. Marie-Rose is survived by her husband of 66 years Joseph "Hervey" Brazeau, her children, Robert O. Brazeau and his wife Mary of Douglas, William G. Brazeau and his wife June of Rutland, Marie- Rose M. Pellegrino and her husband David of Sutton, and her daughter- in- law Joan M. Brazeau of Sutton. She is survived by seven grandchildren, Michael and Matthew Brazeau, Christine McGovern, Michelle and Pamela Brazeau, and Renee and Marie-Rose Pellegrino; four great-grandchildren Kayla and Cole McGovern and Lillian and Meghan Brazeau. She is also survived by her sister Gertrude Morin of Shrewsbury, a sister-in- law Margaret Gemme of Estero, Florida, and several nieces and nephews who were so good to her and were an important part of her life. She was predeceased by her son Hervey G. Brazeau in 1978 at the age of 32; three brothers Paul, Ernest, and Rene "Brownie" Gemme, and two sisters Olive Prunier and Theresa Gemme. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Beaumont Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Centers in Northbridge, especially to the staff on the 3rd floor for their loving care and compassion shown to Marie and her family during her stay. The funeral for Marie- Rose will be held Wednesday, October 14, from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St., Worcester. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00AM in Holy Family Parish (St. Joseph Church) 35 Hamilton St., Worcester. Calling hours will be held from 5-8PM on Tuesday, October 13 in the funeral home. Interment will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
