Dr. John P. DiCicco, of Shrewsbury, a well-respected Worcester Ear, Nose and Throat Physician, passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2009, surrounded by his beloved family. Dr. DiCicco was born in Providence R.I., the son of his late father Dr. John P. DiCicco, Sr. and his mother, Gabrielle (Dionne) DiCicco who now lives in Shrewsbury. Dr. DiCicco earned his Bachelor Degree in Pre Med from Georgetown University in Washington D.C. and his Physician Medical Degree from the University of Rome, Italy. Dr. DiCicco then completed his residency at The Pittsburgh Ear, Nose and Throat Hospital. He was a dedicated physician who maintained a private practice and was on the staff of St. Vincent's Hospital for more than 30 years. Dr. DiCicco is survived by the family he devoted his life to: his wife and partner of 39 years, Lucia (Fascianelli) DiCicco; his cherished children John M. DiCicco and wife Claire of Worcester, Vanessa M. DiCicco of Shrewsbury, Rosa L. Abraham and husband Jeffrey of Worcester; his mother Gabrielle (Dionne) DiCicco of Shrewsbury; his adored grandson, Mateo J. DiCicco; his three sisters, Antonia Cabot and husband Thomas of Worcester, Pamela Oliveri and husband Nicholas of North Smithfield, RI and Lida Marciano of Cary, IL; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who valued family above all else. They were his life's inspiration. Dr. DiCicco was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church and both the Massachusetts and National Physicians Associations. He was an avid traveler, enjoyed photography, fishing, and especially good conversation over a cup of espresso with friends. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday October 10, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1290 Grafton Street, Worcester. There are no calling hours.
