Carlo Mastrototaro, 89, of Worcester died peacefully Monday October 5, 2009 at home surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife of 15 years Maryann (Balistrieri) Hennessey Mastrototaro, two daughters Gina and Vera Mancino of Buffalo N. Y. and two grandchildren, a sister Stella Lamanuzzi, several nieces and nephews. A brother Nicholas Mastrototaro predeceased him. Carlo was born in Worcester son of the late Angelo and Lisa (Pasquale) Mastrototaro and has lived here all his life. He was a U.S. Marine Veteran of WW11, among his awards he was a recipient of a Purple Heart, and several silver stars. He was the owner of several restaurants in the Worcester area. Carlo attended Our Lady Of Mt. Carmel-St Ann Church. He was instrumental in the founding of the Worcester Marine Corp League on Lake Avenue. Besides his dedication to the Marine Corps League, he was a member of The East Side Post # 201 American Legion, The Disabled American Veterans, and several Veteran of Foreign Wars Posts. Carlo will be missed dearly by his family and friends. Carlo's funeral will be held Thursday from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME &CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00AM in Our Lady Of Mt Carmel-St Ann Church 24 Mulberry St. Calling hours will be held from 5-8PM on Wednesday. Interment with Military Honors will be in St. Johns Cemetery. Members of the East Side Post #201 will recite their ritual at 7PM, and members of the Marine Corps League will meet at 7:45 for their ritual.
