CAROL L. NIFORD 1936 - 2009 Carol L. Niford, of Shrewsbury, MA is at peace after a long battle with Alzheimer Disease. She died on September 25, 2009. She was 73 years old. Carol leaves her children, Michael Condon and his wife Jackie, of Spencer, MA, Linda Robert and her husband John, of Oxford, MA, Lea Lacriox and her partner, Stephen Smith, of Manchester, NH, William Condon and his partner, Scott Yonker, of Shrewsbury, MA, and Mary Carney and her husband, David, of Shrewsbury, MA. She also leaves nine grand children and three great-grand children. Carol was predeceased by her husband, Russell A. Niford, who died in 1994. Carol was a home maker for most of her life, but also worked at Hanover Insurance and later at WalMart until she retired in 2004. Carol was an avid reader. She enjoyed spending time with her children, travel and music. Calling hours will be held at MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St on Monday September 28, from 5-8PM A funeral service will be held Tuesday September 29 at 11:30AM in the funeral home. Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery.
