Kenneth J Daignault Sr. 71, died peacefully Friday September 25, 2009 in the Beth Israel Hospital Surrounded by his loving family after a short battle with cancer. Ken is survived by his five children; Kenneth J.Daignault Jr. and his wife Barbara of Holden, Jeffrey C. Daignault of Largo Florida, and R. Randy Daignault and his wife Amy of Worcester. Two daughters, Lynne M. Ciociolo and her husband George of Jefferson with whom he lived, and Laurie J, Matosky and her husband David of Oxford. Five grandchildren, George R. Ciociolo Jr, Kenneth J. Daignault 3rd Kaitlyn, and Carter Daignault and Karly M. Matosky. Ken also leaves his brother Arthur Daignault and his wife Joan of South Yarmouth, and two sisters, Beverly Stanick and her husband Philip of Cherry Valley, and Diane Daignault Testoni wife of the late Livio Testoni of Southbridge all of whom he loved dearly., and the mother of his children Ruth E. Carlson, also many nieces and nephews, and cousins whom he cared deeply about. Ken was born in Worcester son of the late Arthur and Adele E. (Campolito) Daignault and lived Worcester and West Boylston for many years.. He was a graduate of Commerce High School and attended Worcester Junior College. Ken was a successful salesman for many years in the wholesale food industry. He started his career at the Sweet Life Food Company where he worked for 26 years, and later went to work for at the U.S. Food Service. He was recognized by his peers as a "legend in the food industry" and received many awards and recognitions during his career, including salesman of the year, every one who knew him had a Ken story! Ken provided loving support for his family, and he especially loved playing basketball with his boys. He was always proud of his children, and grandchildrens accomplishments. He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends. Ken attended Our Lady Of Mt Carmel-St Ann Church. Much to the dismay of his family he was an avid Yankees fan. Ken's funeral will be held Tuesday from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00AM in Our LadyOf Mt Carmel- St Ann Church 24 Mulberry St.Calling hours in the funeral home are from 5-8PM on Monday. Interment will be in St. Johns Cemetery. Flowers may be sent or contributions made to a charity of choice.
