Mary B. (Breen) Ritacco, 83, of Worcester, passed away Monday, September 21, 2009, in her home surrounded by her loving family. Her husband of nearly sixty years, Arthur N. Ritacco, predeceased her in August 2006. Mary is survived by her daughter, Mary Jane DeAngelis and her husband Charles of Worcester; two brothers, Robert J. Breen of Worcester, and William M. Breen and his wife Marion of New Market, New Hampshire; three sisters, Florence LeBeaux of Bacliffe, TX, Patricia F. Cote and her husband Joseph L. Cote and Shirley M. Menard and her husband Thomas Menard all of Worcester; two grandchildren, John N. Lavoie and his wife Susan Lavoie and Lori A. Smith and her husband Garold Smith; four great grandchildren, Courtney M. Smith, Brittney A. Smith, Nicholas R. Lavoie, and Micaela R. Lavoie; uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by two brothers, Raymond V. Breen and Joseph P. Breen. Mary was born in Bellingham daughter of Joseph E. and Mary M. (DiNardo) Breen. She graduated from Worcester Commerce High School and the Brockton Hospital School of Nursing. Mary worked as a Private Duty Nurse for many years throughout greater Boston. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church. She was a Confraternity of Christian Doctrine Teacher and Campfire Leader at Saint Stephen's Church in Worcester. The funeral for Mary will be held Friday, September 25 from MERCADATNE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, with a Mass at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1257 Grafton Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Saint John's Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Thursday, September 24, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
